Auteur Angelo SORMANI (1965)

Né en 1965, il a étudié la trompette, la composition de musique électronique et expérimentale, le chant choral, la direction d'une chorale et l'instrumentation pour harmonie au Conservatoire "Giuseppe Verdi" de Milan. Il a ensuite suivi des cours de spécialisation en analyse, composition et instrumentation pour harmonie à l'Istituto Superiore Bandistico Europeo de Trento. Parallèlement aux études de musique, il a obtenu son diplôme universitaire en "Sciences informatiques" à l'Université de Milan. Son expérience va de la musique classique au jazz, en passant par la composition assistée par ordinateur. Il est professeur à l'I.P.I.A. "L. Ripamonti" de Como et enseigne la Théorie, le Solfège et l'Harmonie à l'école de Lugano. Il dirige le Corps musical "A. Manzoni" de Lecco et la Lugano Junior Band. Il a collaboré en tant que chef d'orchestre ou compositeur avec l'Orchestre d'instruments à vent du Conservatoire "G. Verdi" de Milan, avec le Festival des Complessi Bandistici Umbri (Ensembles Musicaux de l'Ombrie), avec l'Anbima et avec le Festival international des harmonies militaires de Modèna. Il a remporté des prix importants dans des concours internationaux de composition: "L. Russolo" de Varese; "Città di Pavia"; "V. Bucchi" de Rome; Concours de Composition Originale pour Harmonie de Corciano (gagnant dans trois éditions); "Pietro Pernice" de Siracusa (gagnant dans deux éditions); "Pellegrino Caso" de Vietri sul mare, concours de Bertiolo et concours Anbima d'Udine. Ses compositions ont été choisies comme morceaux obligatoires dans des concours pour harmonies italiens et internationaux.Born in 1965, Angelo Sormani graduated in trumpet studies, electronic music composition, experimental composition, choral singing and choir direction and band instrumentation from the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory in Milan. He then attended advanced courses in analysis, composition and instrumentation for band with Franco Cesarini at the Istituto Superiore Bandistico Europeo in Trento. Parallel with his musical education he studied computer science and graduated from Milan University. He is on the teaching staff at the Technology and Physics Laboratory of the "L. Ripamonti" Professional Institute for Industry and Handicrafts in Como. He has experience in the fields of classical music (he plays with the Lugano Civica Filarmonica and was choir director for more than ten years), jazz (he has played with Big Bands and similar ensembles in Lecco, Milan, Como and Lugano) and computer music (having worked in collaboration with the Computer Music Laboratory of the Milan State Uni-versity). He combines his career as a teacher (at the Scuola Civica in Lugano where he teaches theory and solfeggio, harmony and the elements of instrumentation and composition), with that of director (of the Corpo Musicale "A. Manzoni" in Lecco and the Mini-band of the Lugano Civica Filarmonica) and composer (producing works for the Wind Orchestra of the "G. Verdi" Conservatory in Milan and the "Scorribanda" (festival for Umbrian bands). In 1998 he was awarded an Honourable Mention in the "L. Russolo" International Competition for Electronic Music for his piece called "Metamorphosis". In 1999 his work entitled "Spring Falls" was awarded third prize (no first prize was awarded) in the Composition category in the "Città di Pavia" International Music Competition. In 2000 his work entitled "Come pietre, vive" was awarded the fifth and only prize in the "20th century music and poetry" category in the "Valentino Bucchi" International Composition Competition in Rome. In 2001 he won second prize in the second category of the Corciano International Competi-tion for Original Composition for Band with "Mediterraneo" (no first prize was awarded). In the 2002 edition of the same competition in Corciano, another of his works, called "Prisma", won second prize in the third category (no first prize was awarded).1965 geboren, hat er seine Studien in den Fachrichtungen Trompete, Komposition für elektronische Musik, experimentelle Komposition, Chorgesang, Chorleitung und Blasorchesterinstrumentation am Konservatorium "Giuseppe Verdi" in Mailand abgeschlossen. Er ist als Lehrer an der Berufsschule "I.P.I.A. L.Ripamonti" in Como tätig und lehrt an der "Scuola Civica" in Lugano Theorie, Solfeggio und Harmonie. Zudem leitet er den Musikverein "Corpo Musicale A. Manzoni" in Lecco und die "Lugano Junior Band". Er wirkte als Dirigent oder Komponist beim Blasorchester des Konservatoriums "G. Verdi" in Mailand, beim "Festival dei Complessi Bandistici Umbri", beim "ANBIMA" und beim "Festival Internazionale delle bande militari" in Modena mit. Wichtige Anerkennungen bei internationalen Kompositionswettbewerben: "L. Russolo", Varese; "Città di Pavia"; "V. Bucchi", Rom; "Concorso di Composizione Originale per Banda", Corciano (Gewinner von drei Ausgaben); "Pietro Pernice", Siracusa (Gewinner von zwei Ausgaben); "Pellegrino Caso", Vietri sul Mare; Wettbewerb in Bertiolo und Wettbewerb "ANBIMA" in Udine. Seine Kompositionen wurden als Pflichtstücke für nationale und internationale Blasmusikwettbewerbe ausgewählt.

SUITE DE PIECESIndex. décimale : 210.1 Orchestre d'harmonie seul Résumé : Ce morceau se divise en quatre temps, chacun ayant un caractère bien défini et un style qui lui est propre.Le premier mouvement ''Intro - Aeolian (Minor)'' a été composé en utilisant la gamme mineure naturelle. A certains moments, les sonorités, le langage utilisé et les éléments mélodiques empruntent au langage du jazz.Dans le deuxième mouvement ''Meditato (Cromatic)'', l'élément catalyseur est constitué par l'échelle chromatique descendante qui est proposée alternativement dans toutes les sections de l'orchestre d'harmonie. Un thème chantant se superpose à ces fragments chromatiques et se développe tout au long du mouvement.Le troisième temps ''Scherzo (Whole Tone)'' utilise l'échelle hexatonique à tons entiers. Le langage utilisé dégage une atmosphère totalement différente de la précédente. Le caractère espiègle, brillant et par moments presque suspendu, s’accorde parfaitement au titre proposé.Le dernier temps ''Finale (Pentatonic)'', construit sur l'échelle pentatonique à cinq sons, présente des passages déterminés et pressants. Le motif initial est plusieurs fois associé et superposé à des cellules thématiques utilisées dans les trois mouvements précédents comme pour souligner l'apothéose finale.Avec cette composition, on a voulu explorer le domaine sonore et formel des quatre genres de musique indiqués ci-dessus, en mettant en exergue le caractère, l'atmosphère et les particularités typiques de chacun d'entre eux. On a également souhaité mettre à la disposition du monde de l'orchestre d'harmonie et de son public des morceaux ayant des styles musicaux consolidés, proposés dans un langage simple et accessible, pour un niveau de difficulté d’exécution moyenne.
