Missa Solemnis comprend toutes les parties musicales susceptibles de servir d'accompagnement aux rites liturgiques. Cependant, le compositeur a tenu à y insérer un Ave Maria en mémoire de sa maman extrêmement croyante qui, en outre, avait une vénération toute particulière pour la Vierge Marie.Cet Ave Maria révèle une mélodie lumineuse, soutenue très discrètement par l’orchestre, qui permet au soliste d’exprimer toutes ses émotions par des phrases musicales d’une très grande générosité. André Waignein composa cette pièce pour soprano ou ténor et orchestre d’harmonie. Cependant, la partie soliste peut également être interprétée par un membre de l’orchestre car elle est également disponible pour flûte traversière, hautbois, clarinette, saxophone alto ou trompette.Bien sûr, le compositeur a dédié cet Ave Maria à sa maman. POEMEIndex. décimale : 210.1 Orchestre d'harmonie seul Résumé : Le poème Dies Irae (Jour de colère) est attribué à Tommaso da Celano, que l'on considère comme l'auteur de la version définitive écrite au XIIIe siècle. Plusieurs compositeurs célèbres tels que Berlioz dans sa Symphonie Fantastique, Saint-Saëns dans sa Danse Macabre, Mahler dans sa Symphonie n)2 et enfin Franz Liszt dans Totentanz (Danse Macabre) ont intégré des passages de ce chant grégorien dans leur œuvre.Dans la composition Song of David, l'hymne grégorienne originale joue un rôle prépondérant. Après une introduction à l'unisson, deux versions du thème principal sont présentées. Les intermezzi, les ornements et le postlude reprennent les caractéristiques du répertoire grégorien. Le titre Song of David honore la troisième ligne du poème qui fait allusion à la prophétie de David.
